An extraordinary large number of pupils at one stage.
Numbers decreased substantially when St Mary's School opened in 1923



                  Myrtleford Old School Development Timeline

May 1868                First School commences at Albert Street.
1870                        One-room School commences at Elgin Street (present site).
1872                        A new classroom added.
1886                        Another classroom added.
1912                        School remodelled. Additional large classroom added, along with a Head Teacher's Office and a Cloak Room.

1938-39                  Old  School closed.  New School opens in Prince Street.
